Terms of service

Version 1.1 · Last updated: 20 August 2026

1. Who these terms are between

TaniLearn ("we", "us") is operated by JotaMinds Private Limited, a company incorporated in India — CIN U62011KL2026PTC106045, registered office X/188, Library Road, Aluva – 683101, Kerala, India. These terms are the agreement between us and you, the account holder. By creating an account or making a purchase, you accept them.

2. You must be an adult; children use profiles

You must be 18 or over and the parent or legal guardian of every child whose profile you create. Children do not hold accounts, do not sign in themselves and cannot make purchases. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything your children do in it, and for keeping your password to yourself.

By creating a child profile you also confirm, as a term of this agreement, that you consent on that child's behalf to our processing of their information as described in the privacy policy. That consent is the basis on which we handle a child's data, and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting the profile.

You may create up to six child profiles on one account.

3. What the service is

TaniLearn provides lessons, practice activities and timed quizzes across seven subjects, in five age bands, plus optional extras: an age-normed IQ test, multiplayer quiz games, and printable certificates. Content follows widely used school syllabi but we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any school, board or examination authority.

It is a learning aid. We do not promise any particular improvement in marks, ability or exam results.

4. Free trial

A new account gets a free trial with a limited slice of the content, described on the pricing section of our home page. It needs no card. We may change what the trial includes for new accounts, but not retroactively for a plan you have already paid for.

5. Plans, and what a plan covers

  • Plans run for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • A plan covers one child profile. Buying for one child does not unlock subjects for a sibling — each profile needs its own plan.
  • Plans are one-off purchases, not subscriptions. Nothing auto-renews and no payment instrument is stored or charged again. Access simply ends when the term does.
  • If you buy again while a plan is running, the new term is added to the end of the current one. No days are lost.
  • On an All Subjects plan, any new subject we add while your term runs is included at no extra cost.

6. IQ test and game credits

  • IQ test credits and multiplayer game credits are bought separately, are held at the account level, and are shared across all your child profiles.
  • One IQ credit = one attempt. A credit is consumed when a test is completed and scored. If a test is abandoned or fails for a technical reason, the credit is restored — see the Refunds & cancellation policy.
  • Credits do not expire while your account is open, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred between accounts or converted back to money.

7. The IQ test is not a clinical assessment

Our IQ test is an age-normed estimate produced from 24 reasoning puzzles in a few minutes. It is not a diagnosis, not a clinical or psychometric assessment, and not a substitute for one. A real assessment is administered one-to-one by a qualified psychologist over several hours. Do not use our score to make educational, medical or placement decisions about a child.

8. Prices, currency and tax

Prices are shown on the pricing section of our home page in Indian rupees or US dollars, and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout. We may change prices at any time; a change never affects a plan you have already bought. Promotional codes have their own conditions (for example, first purchase only) shown where the code is offered, and may be withdrawn at any time.

9. Payment

Payments are handled by third-party gateways (Razorpay, PayPal, PayU). Card, UPI and bank details are entered on their systems; we never receive or store them. Your access begins once the gateway confirms the payment to us. If a payment is later reversed or charged back, we may suspend the access it paid for.

10. Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • share, resell or provide access to your account outside your own household;
  • copy, scrape, bulk-download or redistribute our questions, lessons or other content;
  • try to break, overload, probe or circumvent the security of the service, or interfere with another user's use of it;
  • tamper with scores, stars, credits, leaderboards or certificates, or use automated tools to play;
  • upload or transmit anything unlawful, or use the service to harass anyone.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where the breach is minor and fixable we will tell you first.

A plan is sold for personal use within your own household. Institutional use — a school, tuition centre, coaching class or any other commercial setting — is not covered by any plan and needs a separate written licence. If that is you, write to support@tanilearn.com and we will work something out.

11. Our content

All lessons, questions, artwork, text and software on TaniLearn belong to us or our licensors. Your plan grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own children's learning at home. Nothing here transfers ownership, and the licence ends when your access does.

Certificates we generate are yours to print and keep, for personal use.

12. Availability

We aim to keep TaniLearn running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may change, add or remove features. A plan buys access to the library as it stands when you pay; what is refundable, and in which circumstances, is set out in the refund policy.

13. Closing your account

You may close your account at any time from the account page or by asking support. Closing it ends access immediately, and any unused credits go with it; see the refund policy for what is refundable and what is not. We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of section 10, or if required by law.

14. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data where you could reasonably have kept your own record, or for any exam, academic or placement outcome. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and (b) the price of the plan or purchase the claim relates to — so the cap can never be less than what you paid for the thing that went wrong.

15. Your responsibility to us

If we suffer loss because your account was used in serious breach of section 10 — for example, access resold or run commercially, or our content copied and redistributed — or to infringe someone else's intellectual property, you agree to compensate us for that loss. This applies to those two things only; it is not a general indemnity, and it does not reduce any right the law gives you as a consumer.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, but a change applies to you only from your next purchase — it never applies retroactively to a plan you have already bought. If we must change them sooner because the law requires it, we will email the address on your account before the change takes effect; if you do not accept it, you may close your account and receive a pro-rata refund of any unused paid term.

17. Notices

Anything we need to tell you formally — including a change under section 16 — goes to the email address on your account and counts as received one working day after we send it, so please keep that address current. Anything you need to tell us formally can be sent to support@tanilearn.com; we acknowledge within 48 hours.

18. The general legal bits

  • Severability. If a court or authority finds part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, that part is read down or removed and the rest stays in force.
  • Entire agreement. These terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy are the whole agreement between us about the service and replace anything said elsewhere — though nothing in this clause limits liability for fraud.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your account or this agreement to anyone else. We may transfer this agreement to a company that buys or reorganises our business, provided your rights under it are not reduced; we will email you if that happens.
  • Force majeure. Neither of us is liable for a failure caused by events genuinely beyond our control — natural disaster, war, large-scale internet or power failure, government action. If such an event stops us delivering the service for more than 30 days, you may close your account and receive a pro-rata refund of any unused paid term.
  • Survival. Sections that by their nature should outlast the agreement — 11 (our content), 14 (liability), 15 (your responsibility to us) and 19 (governing law) — survive the closing of your account.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given it up.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Ernakulam have jurisdiction — without affecting any right you have to bring a consumer complaint where you live.
