No need to be online together: play your 10 questions now (using the

the same 10 questions whenever they like. Scores are compared when both are done!

tab or refreshing does not pause it, and anything the clock takes counts as out of time.

Slide from 10 seconds (speedy!) to 120 seconds (relaxed). Default is 30 seconds.
Games and challenges with friends use the timer picked when that room was made, not this one.
Sound
Background colour
Changes the colour of the page behind your cards. Cream is how TaniLearn
comes out of the box. The last four are from the Star Shop — tap one to go and buy it.
Each player picks their own, and it follows them to any device.
Smart difficulty
When it’s on, a round quietly serves slightly harder questions after two
right answers in a row, and slightly easier ones after two misses — stars and levels don’t change.
This is a different setting from Question complexity on the “Ready to play?” card: complexity
decides how the questions are written and what a right answer is worth, and Smart difficulty moves
between levels within the round. Turning this off keeps every question at the level you opened.
Buzz
A tiny vibration when an answer lands. Phones and tablets only —
it does nothing on a computer.
Read aloud
Reads the question and the choices out loud, and reads a lesson
station when you open it. Tap 🔈 on the question screen to pause it or hear it again.
Voice
Reading speed
Answer by voice
Say the letter of your answer — “A”, “B”, “C” or “D” — instead of
tapping. You can also say “next”, “back”, “skip” or “again”. Your browser will ask for
permission to use the microphone. TaniLearn never records or stores your voice: your
browser turns what you say into text, and we only see the words. In Chrome and Edge that
means the browser sends the audio to its maker’s own speech service (Google or Microsoft)
to recognise it; some browsers do it on the device.
