A sample skill check report

This is a sample. “Mira” is a fictional seven-year-old boy and his answers are made up. Everything worked out from them — the levels, the bands, the game levels opened, his strengths, the ideas to practise and their links — comes from the same code that builds a real report, and it is drawn exactly as yours will be.

Below is his first check, then a re-check three months later, after playing and learning in TaniLearn with a plan — and how the two sit side by side in the Parent Zone.

Step 1 · The first check · 6 Jul 2026
Mira’s skill levels
Skill check · ages 7–8 · 6 Jul 2026
What do the levels mean?
  • How the level was found. The check adapts as it goes. Each subject starts at level 5. A right answer makes the next question harder and a wrong one easier, in smaller steps each time, and the first slip in a subject gets a second question at the same level. The level shown is where the child settled.
  • The bar. Developing is levels 1–4, Typical 5–10 and Ahead 11 and up, on the ladder for ages 7–8.
  • In the game. Every subject still starts at Level 1. With a plan, levels up to half the check’s result open, so the child can skip ahead if they want to.
  • What it is not. A few questions per subject is a small sample. It is a starting point for practice — not a test score, and not a comparison with other children.

With a plan, Mira can skip up to level 7 in Science, and level 3 in Maths, English and Logic.

Strengths: Science — a great place to build confidence from.

A few questions per subject is a small sample, so treat these as suggestions.

A short check gives a level, not a grade. Levels are positions on TaniLearn’s own ladder for this age group, not a test score or a measure of ability.

Skill check · ages 7–8 · 5 Oct 2026
What do the levels mean?
  • How the level was found. The check adapts as it goes. A re-check starts each subject at the last check’s level.
  • ▲ and ▼ show how many levels each subject moved since the last check.
  • In the game. Every subject still starts at Level 1. With a plan, levels up to half the check’s result open, so the child can skip ahead if they want to.
  • What it is not. A few questions per subject is a small sample. It is a starting point for practice — not a test score, and not a comparison with other children.

Each check is kept, newest first, with the change since the one before. A child’s levels are only compared on the same age group’s ladder.
